Student Life

Students at Harrisburg Christian School find many places to belong among students who share the same interests and hobbies. Our variety of student organizations and extracurricular activities help build a common identity while challenging students to try new things.

Senior missions trip

Las Palmas Colegio Cristiano is the Christian School in San Pedro de Macoris that our Senior Classes visit each year in the Dominican Republic.  CSAGH has watched Las Palmas grow from 40 students in three small classrooms of rented space, to over 400 students in a large campus, which they now own.  Seniors and Staff have cleared bamboo trees, cleaned up piles of trash, conducted field day activities, taught professional development seminars, and given scholarships to students in need of financial assistance.

Prom is held each year, and is a fun time for students to celebrate school memories and accomplishments with their peers during dinner and dancing.  Games, senior tributes made by the juniors, and presentation of senior gifts, are just a few of the engaging events that take place at HCS Prom.

Spiritual emphasis retreats

Students enjoy attending Spiritual Emphasis Retreats. It’s a time to grow together as a group as well as individually. Students have the opportunity to grow spiritually, physically and intellectually during this time away from normal day to day activities.

Homecoming at HCS is a semi-formal social held on campus. Students grades 9-12 attend and celebrate with dancing, games, and snacks.

Students having membership in local chapters of NHS is based on displaying and maintaining outstanding character, leadership, and service.  Members give their service and participate in projects each year in the school and in the community.

Spirit Week is a fun week at HCS.  Students get to dress in their favorite costumes and attire to match the distributed schedule. The dress code varies each day from Superhero Day to Crazy Hair Day to Pajama Day, and more! Students love participating and brightening the dark winter days with their smiles and laughter during Spirit Week.
