Every student, young and old, is a unique individual with talents and potential gifted by God just waiting to get unleashed in this world. At Harrisburg Christian School, we partner with families to provide a Christ-centered education that sharpens a student’s mind, deepens their faith and develops their God-given gifts.

How do we do this? Each of the HCS core values speaks to the culture we cultivate among our students, teachers, administration and families. These fundamental beliefs serve as a solid foundation on which our students learn, explore their future and impact the world for Christ.

Scripture

The Bible is the lens through which we view education and engage with the world around us. An HCS education effectively integrates Biblical truth and learning into the students’ daily lives as we strive to influence culture for Christ. Spiritual development opportunities are seamlessly incorporated into their coursework, including our weekly chapels, retreats, times of corporate prayer and more.

Learning

At our Christian school in the Harrisburg and Hershey area, we foster a vibrant learning community characterized by curious students and talented educators. Our small class sizes allow students to receive individualized attention from our fully certified teaching team. Our rigorous curriculum prepares students for institutions of higher learning and life beyond our halls. While testing serves as a metric to help us measure student progress, we never use these scores to label students or define their overall success.

 Community

At HCS, students learn the true meaning of “love your neighbor as yourself.” We’ve developed a culture of serving others that allows students to actively love their community. All grade levels faithfully and joyfully serve at a variety of local non-profit organizations as well as address the needs of global communities abroad. These service opportunities are incorporated into their coursework and help students develop hearts of compassion.

Excellence

Academics, volunteer opportunities and even our extra-curricular activities are all an extension of glorifying God. As students learn more about impacting the world for Christ, they also discover that they can use their gifts and strengths to glorify and honor Him. That’s why we encourage students to do everything with excellence, to the best of their abilities.

Discipleship

After their time at Harrisburg Christian School, our prayer is that students have a genuine and mature faith in Jesus Christ. We collaborate intentionally and relationally with parents and churches to encourage our students to develop their personal relationships with God.

Leadership

From the administration coordinating the school’s day-to-day activities to teachers guiding and teaching students in the classroom, we recognize and understand the importance of our calling as servant-leaders. As we impart this calling to students, we give them ample opportunities to grow in their individual gifts and interests. From the fine arts to science and technology to athletics and more, our co-curricular activities are designed to allow students to develop their talents and put them into practice.
